It’s been a busy year for 24 year-old milliner Rosie Olivia, with a successful Autumn Winter 2012 range stocked in Fenwicks and another in the pipeline for Spring Summer 2013. As well as working with innovative virtual hat retailer Lovehats.com and continuing her bespoke private work, she has been supported by the Prince’s Trust as part of the youth charity’s Enterprise programme. It is down to this affiliation that gave Rosie the chance to meet Princess Beatrice and subsequently be invited to create a bespoke piece for her to wear at Sandringham Church on Christmas Day. It’s an opportunity that the young designer was flattered and excited to be given, “I’m honored to have my brand associated with Her Royal Highness,” said designer, Rosie Norman. “She is well known for wearing eye-catching hats and I am thrilled to be able to add to her collection.” The chosen bespoke hat, designed to complement her outfit, has been made from black velour felt and trimmed with a simple bow crafted from Rosie Olivia’s unique hand-woven lace.
